Happy 2015!! How was everyone’s NYE? I spent the night back at school with my best friends, which is always a good time. I set up a backdrop for photos, which in my mind looked much better, but I’m still pretty satisfied with how it turned out. I mean, it’s on the staircase of a college house basement. It worked for what I wanted though – just a little New Year’s flare. I wore head-to-toe Forever 21, keeping it pretty casual in a plain black shift dress, booties, and a silver statement necklace for a little extra oomph. Those booties also proved to not be as comfortable as I thought when I wore them out a previous night, probably because they’re still brand new and I was wearing them for hours – and walking around town. Yikes. Needless to say I was plenty happy to be taking them off at the end of the night.
Anyway, I’m feeling some seriously good vibes about 2015 and I hope you all are too. Here’s to a new year of fun, fashion, and TEACHING!
A very happy birthday to my girl, America. Hope everyone had a day filled with family, friends, and BBQ!
One of our senior week activities was attending a Phillies game! It was a beautiful day/night and totally perfect for a baseball game – except when it got late and a cold wind was gusting through the stadium. Either way – us girls and a few of our other friends all went together and we had a great time. We’re all Yankees fans though (even Juliana – she just borrowed that shirt from her roommate), so we went neutral with our outfits. I of course had to take this opportunity to wear my newest Rowan hat. I also finally broke out this super soft, mesh detailed tshirt from Gap that I am in love with. You know that I was thinking the mesh was super sporty and appropriate for a game – I’m seriously so lame.

I’m doing an author study for my using children’s literature class. My group and I chose Eric Carle as our author (well actually I chose him because I LOVE his books). So, as some background I’m sharing a list of some awesome books by this wonderful author/illustrator.
1. The Very Hungry Caterpillar – $6.07 for a Board Book on Amazon
2. The Grouchy Ladybug – $8.09 for a Board Book on Amazon
3. Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see? – $6.50 for Board Book on Amazon
4. Friends – $13.90 for a Hardcover on Amazon
I’ll be posting a lot about EC, his books, and mini lessons that my group and I come up with throughout the process of creating our author study.. stay tuned!
I only had one class today and it wasn’t until 4:45. I felt obligated to wear something put together just because it was the first time I was getting dressed all day. Also because I get dressed for every class – the only time I wear sweats is when I wear those super cool patterned/quilted skinny sweats from urban. I just have so many things in my closet.. I feel guilty if I don’t wear them!!
Anyway, it didn’t feel super cold (even though really it was still only 21 degrees) so I wore my favorite ripped jeggings from American Eagle. Paired with a long sleeve cropped peplum, a cozy sweater courtesy of Grandma Roz’s closet, booties and tons of jewelry – I had the perfect layered look. Lots of clothes and lots of jewelry. Just the way I like it. (Don’t worry, I wore a jacket/scarf/beanie also!)
What are you go-to layered looks for the cold weather?

Notice the one bracelet on the left in the third pic down from the top – it’s actually a BANANA! My good friend Taylor studied abroad in Costa Rica last semester and brought me back this bracelet. She said that a woman and her husband made these bracelets out of different fruits.. how cool? I love it so much and it has an awesome story for when anyone compliments or notices it.
Happy end of the week everyone!!
