Kimono Mania

Kimono’s are a super hot item to have in your spring/summer wardrobe this season. You can get one anywhere these days – from Forever 21 (where I got mine) to Free People, Topshop, Nasty Gal, etc. The options truly are endless. You can grab a cropped kimono or one that flows down to your ankles. With plenty of colors and patterns to choose from, the kimono is the perfect piece to throw on top of a plain tee/tank and some cut offs to complete a look that says “I didn’t try to look this good.”

Have any of you hopped on the kimono trend?

Literally just realized I didn’t cut off those stupid hanger straps – Please ignore those annoying little things!

I got this knockoff Brian Lichtenberg tshirt off Etsy because honestly who could resist the 15 dollar price tag vs. 60? And honestly, I’m feeling pretty cool in this ensemble. I didn’t specify why kind of shirt I wanted in my etsy order, so I ended up with a unisex large which was entirely too big. I cut off about 5 or 6 inches from the bottom and now it’s the perfect tee. I also broke out my new f21 cut out booties – with thick black socks since it’s so chilly! Paired with my fav skinny cords and a flannel, I’m good to go!

Lots of Jewelry, Lots of Clothes

I only had one class today and it wasn’t until 4:45. I felt obligated to wear something put together just because it was the first time I was getting dressed all day. Also because I get dressed for every class – the only time I wear sweats is when I wear those super cool patterned/quilted skinny sweats from urban. I just have so many things in my closet.. I feel guilty if I don’t wear them!!

Anyway, it didn’t feel super cold (even though really it was still only 21 degrees) so I wore my favorite ripped jeggings from American Eagle. Paired with a long sleeve cropped peplum, a cozy sweater courtesy of Grandma Roz’s closet, booties and tons of jewelry – I had the perfect layered look. Lots of clothes and lots of jewelry. Just the way I like it. (Don’t worry, I wore a jacket/scarf/beanie also!)

What are you go-to layered looks for the cold weather?

Notice the one bracelet on the left in the third pic down from the top – it’s actually a BANANA! My good friend Taylor studied abroad in Costa Rica last semester and brought me back this bracelet. She said that a woman and her husband made these bracelets out of different fruits.. how cool? I love it so much and it has an awesome story for when anyone compliments or notices it.

Happy end of the week everyone!!

I am so in love with this jacket by Billabong. I saw it on Pacsun’s website a few months back but even though I liked it, there was no way I was paying full price for it (never never never). When it went on super sale though a few weeks back I had no choice but to buy it – only $29 dollars!! Such a steal. My only complaint is that the shag faux fur that lines the inside sheds A LOT. So I can’t wear anything under it that will really show the fur all over it. Something white – or surprisingly this flannel that I layered underneath (from goodwill nonetheless). Paired with leggings, combat boots, and sunnies, this outfit was perfect for running errands and shopping earlier today!

Winter Whites

Yesterday was the most perfect winter day! Sunshine and 50-something degrees, warm enough for a sweater and a light jacket. Greg and I spent the day walking, shopping, and eating at Tice’s Corner before getting the worlds best sushi dinner with my family and catching a late movie. I hope everyone is enjoying their break!
