Studs for Spring

I’ve been on a spring shoe shopping frenzy. I can’t stop buying flats, espadrilles, sandals, sneakers. I want all of it – even though I definitely did not need a fifth (!!!!) pair of slip on sneaks. Whatever.

My most loved pairs from my recent purchases are these two bad boys:

The sneakers are from F21 and are to. die. for. They’re perfectly studded and super comfy. The light grey color and the sparkle from the studs make these the perfect sneakers for spring/summer. The espadrille flats I got on sale from Target. I really like how they’re not just your typical espadrille flat. The front material is almost like a suede and the contrast with the brown faux-leather stitching is spot on. The stud trend is displayed nicely with a native design – accompanied by springs other huge trend – fringe – on the heel.

You can find the sneakers here for $29.95 and the flats here for $23.99 (5% with a red card!)

Happy 2015!! How was everyone’s NYE? I spent the night back at school with my best friends, which is always a good time. I set up a backdrop for photos, which in my mind looked much better, but I’m still pretty satisfied with how it turned out. I mean, it’s on the staircase of a college house basement. It worked for what I wanted though – just a little New Year’s flare. I wore head-to-toe Forever 21, keeping it pretty casual in a plain black shift dress, booties, and a silver statement necklace for a little extra oomph. Those booties also proved to not be as comfortable as I thought when I wore them out a previous night, probably because they’re still brand new and I was wearing them for hours – and walking around town. Yikes. Needless to say I was plenty happy to be taking them off at the end of the night.

Anyway, I’m feeling some seriously good vibes about 2015 and I hope you all are too. Here’s to a new year of fun, fashion, and TEACHING!

Bomb Boots

Tonight – these happened. Consider me the happiest girl on the planet. Happy Hanukkah/Christmas to me! They have the most amazing pointed toe and the block heel makes these 3 1/2 inches feel like nothing. I’ll be wearing these with a black shift dress and some major jewelry for new years eve.

You can find these bad boys at Forever 21 – and right now all boots are 30% off. Snag them while you can, ladies.

Reds, Blues, & Birks

How’s everyone’s summer going? I have no excuse (besides summer classes and work) not to post this summer. I let the blog go a little bit the last few months with school coming to an end, graduation, senior activities, the beginning of summer, etc. I recently went on vacation to Cape Cod with my family and it was the greatest week. The weather was beautiful, we ate plenty of seafood and icecream, and spent everyday on the beach. I of course did some shopping while I was there, and thanks to myself and (mostly) my mom, I snagged a couple cute things to add to my ever-growing closet. This unbelievably cool cropped kimono is from a boutique in Provincetown. Once I saw it I had no choice but to walk out of the store with it. The red color is perfection, and the ivory design throughout makes it so interesting to the eye, but the fringe in the front is my favorite part! My mom also graciously bought me my first pair of Birkenstocks. She literally lives in birks – the woman has to have at least six different pairs, probably more. I went with a beautiful navy blue pair with a double strap, one wrapping around the toe. They’re pretty comfy, but I haven’t completely broken them in yet. I’m waiting for the day they’re finally molded to my feet! All the bracelets (except for the gold) were also found a various boutiques in Provincetown. Those I paid for myself, don’t worry. A halter top and boyfriend jeans made this the perfect outfit for a night in town and dinner by the bay. I’ll definitely be repeating this outfit more than once before the summer is over!20140711-095453-35693779.jpg20140711-095453-35693433.jpg

Off The Cuff

No more than an hour ago, I got a knock on my door and a very nice UPS man handed over a very large package from Nordstrom. Inside this magical box was a pair of the most beautiful sandals I’ve laid eyes (and feet) on in quite some time. I am dying. Inside and out. They are fabulous visually and feel great on. The true test will be when I spend a day in them (this weekend, of course). I am confident that they will be super comfy based on their thick, padded footbeds and sneaker-like soles. Just take a look so you can feel the feelings that have overcome me. You’re welcome.

Block Heels for Spring

I did a little damage to my debit card at DSW last week. I only needed a pair of mid-heel sandals to go with my graduation dress, but then I came across these beautiful Steve Madden shoes on clearance and couldn’t say no – plus they look great with the dress I plan to wear to AC during senior week. Whatever.

I’m totally in love with block heels for spring – especially ones that are around 3 inches or less in height. The block heel makes the shoes much more comfortable than regular heels. Plus, they can be dressed up or down – paired with a spring dress or with boyfriend jeans, they’re super versatile. BTW – I just ordered my first pair of boyfriend jeans a few days ago! Fingers crossed they fit.

Both can still be found online @ DSW – Click the image to link to the product page.

Happy shopping!
